Templeton Peck, aka Faceman, walks into his apartment with something tucked underneath his arm. He walks into the kitchen and sets the package down on the table. He takes off his leather jacket and throws it on the couch. He places the keys on the table near the package. Face walks into the living room to the radio and turns it on.

Face walks back into the kitchen and unpacks his package. "If this don't help me to forget Amy, then nothing will." Face says as he places the beer into the refrigerator. The blonde walks into the living room and turns on the radio. He sits down at the couch. "I don't wanna forget Amy." His memories drift back to the time that he and Amy were “married”.

“Face, I don’t know if this is going to work or not.” “Amy, have a little faith in my conning abilities will ya?” Amy looks at Face in his full uniform. “I do have faith.” “Then what is it?”She looks at him. “It just seems that this plan is crazy.” Face laughs. “And just think, Murdock didn’t come up with the plan.”

That night in the hotel, Amy wakes up and walks outside. She sits down on a crate and begins to write. Writing had always been easy for her to get out her feelings and emotions about something, or in this case, someone. Face wakes up and sees Amy is not with him. He gets his gun out and walks outside. “Amy, how come you’re out here?” “Couldn’t sleep. Did I wake you?” “I woke up and found that you were gone. I didn’t know if Dawson had you or not.”

“I’m fine. Why don’t you go back inside and go back to sleep?” Face walks back into the room. He continues to stare out of the window looking at Amy.

Three hours have gone by and Face is still on the couch. Winner of a Losing Game by Rascal Flatts comes on the radio. He walks from the living room into the kitchen and opens the refrigerator and gets him a beer. As the song begins, Face sits down at the table and drinks his beer.

Baby, look here at me
Have you ever seen me this way
I've been fumblin' for words
Through the tears and the hurt and the
pain
I'm gonna lay it all out
On the line tonight
And I think that it's time
To tell this uphill fight goodbye

"Goodbye.” He says to the empty room, recalling when Amy took the international correspondent in Jakarta.

~Begin Flashback #2

Amy and Face are sitting in the Denny’s restaurant, picking at there Grand Slam entrees. “Not the usual place that you take your dates, is it?” Amy asks teasingly, hoping she could lighten the mood some before she tells Face about Jakarta. Face smiles back at her. "I know this isn't The Palms, but we will get hot food." Amy smiles at him. "I talked to my editor this evening." she said. Face stabs his eggs with the fork and eats them. "Everything okay?" he asks.

Amy plays with her eggs for a few minutes. "Remember me telling you guys about the international correspondent position?" "Yeah." "I got it." Face looks at Amy and smiles his conman smile.

Have ever had to love someone
That just don't feel the same
Tryin' to make somebody care for you
The way I do
Is like tryin' to catch the rain
And if love is really forever
I'm a winner at a losin'

I know that baby, you tried
To find me somewhere inside of you
But you know you can't lie
Girl, you can't hide the truth
Sometimes two hearts
Just can't dance to the same beat
So I'll pack up my things
And I'll take what remains of me

Have ever had to love someone
That just don't feel the same
Tryin' to make somebody care for you
The way I do
Is like tryin' to catch the rain
And if love is really forever
I'm a winner at a losin'

~Begin Flashback #3

“So what you’re telling me is goodbye?!” “No! I’m not saying goodbye!!” Face walks away from Amy and stares out of the window. “Do you remember that night in Arizona?” Amy sadly looks at his body tensing up in the reflection of the window. “Of course.” “You told me that you loved me. And that’s when I realized that I DO love you.” She knew that he was being totally honest with her. “I love you too but this is a good chance for me to expand my career.” “What about us, Amy?”

~End Flashback #3

I know that I'll never be the man that you need or love
Yeah, baby it's killin' me to stand here and see
I'm not what you've been dreamin' of

“Who would be in love with a conman?” he asks the empty room. Little did Face know that Amy drove into his driveway. Face walks to the kitchen and grabs two more beers. He staggers back into the living room. Amy cuts off her car and opens the door. She sees the living room light on and shakes her head. “I bet he’s drunk.” Amy says softly. She walks up to the door of his apartment and knocks on his door. She can faintly hear the soft sounds of his radio playing. ‘He’s drunk.” she confirms to herself.

Have ever had to love someone
That just don't feel the same
Tryin' to make somebody care for you
The way I do
Is like tryin' to catch the rain
And if love is really forever
I'm a winner at a losin'

Oh, oh, if love is really forever
I'm a winner at a losin'
Ooo, I'm tired of losing
Oh, oh, oh-

Face staggers over to the door and looks through the peephole. “Amy?” he asks. He unlocks the door and opens it. He hides the beer bottle behind him. “What are you doing here?” he asks trying to not slur his words. “May I come in?” she asks. Face moves out of the way and allows her to enter into the apartment. He staggers toward the kitchen. “Want a beer?” he asks. “No thank you.” He shrugs his shoulders and grabs 2 more beers.

“How many have you had?” Amy asks. Face belches. He staggers back into the living room. He falls on the couch and lands in Amy’s lap. “Sure you don’t want one?” he asks. She can smell the alcohol on his breath. “I guess that answers my question.” She says. Amy looks into Face’s blue eyes. “Why are you doing this?” she asks. He looks into her brown eyes. Softly, Face opens up to her. “Amy, I love you.” Tears well in her eyes and his. “I’ve been in love with you from the day you joined the team.” He tells her. Amy helps him up from her lap and sits him on the couch.

She looks at the window and answers Face. “I’ve been in love with you since the day that we met.” Amy turns slightly and sees Face’s reaction to her confession. “Really?” he asks. Amy walks over to the couch and sits down by Face. He swallows hard. His right hand extends to Amy’s hand. She accepts his hand in hers. “What does this mean?” he asks. “I didn’t take the job.” Amy says. She falls back on the couch. “Why?” he asks. Amy looks into his blue eyes. “Because of you.” She says swallowing hard again.

“Me?” he asks. “Amy, are you serious?” Silence fills the room. Face gets up from the couch and staggers over to Amy at the window. He wraps his arms around her body. Amy quietly cries as Face tightens his grip. "Amy, everything is fine." he says trying to console and figure out what's wrong with her. Amy turns around in his arms and stares hopelessly into his devastating blue eyes. "I already bought my plane ticket and was fixing to board the plane. One face kept popping into my mind."

"Who?" Face asks. "You." she replies. Amy wraps her arms around Face's neck and smiles at him. "There was no way that I could leave you or the guys behind." Amy moves closer to Face. "More so you." she says as they kiss. As the kiss breaks, Amy looks longingly at Face. He gives her his best seductive look even being drunk. "Could there be a chance for us?" he asks as Amy rests her head on his chest. "I don't know Templeton. But I do know one thing." "Really; what's that?" he asks.

"I love you more than you'll ever know." she tells him. In the safety and moonlit window of the apartment, for the first time in his adult life, Templeton "Faceman" Peck, knows what it's like to be in love. "I love you Amy Amanda Allen." He says as he staggers behind her. She feels his arms wrap around her waist. Amy leans back into his loving embrace. “I love you to, Templeton Peck.” Amy says as she turns around and wraps her arms around his neck.

Amy and Face kiss.

The End
