I Will Let You Down

“So, what are you planning to do with the rest of your evening?” Face asked.

“Nothing. I like to keep myself free.” Murdock responded.

He'd been a little surprised when the con man had joined him at his table in the Officer's Club.

They didn't know each other that well, but they'd have quite a few missions together and they had

the odd drink together celebrating a success, or drowning a loss.

At least tonight it was a good celebration.

“Do you want to spend the rest of your night here, or maybe have a little private fun.”

Murdock raised his eyebrows at that, but smirked a little. “Whatcha have in mind?” He asked.

“I can't tell you, you just have to trust me.”

“Heard that before.”

“Not from me.”

Murdock looked away from those blue eyes. He could tell they were drawing him in.

He knew the rep that came with this guy.

“I know you want to.” Face whispered, leaning in closer. “I'll make it worth your while.”

Across the room, Hannibal nudged Ray next to him. “He's at it again.” He said, his eyes directing Ray to what he was referring to.

Ray looked over, seeing Peck with Murdock, their sometimes pilot. “Doesn't he ever get enough?”

Hannibal shrugged. “Guess not.”

They both watched as the two men left together.

They didn't make it back to Face's quarters..

The latrine wasn't as appealing, but when you were busy kissing the man who was grabbing your ass, what did it really matter.

He had little time for other thoughts as passion carried them both through.

And neither man left until they were both thoroughly satisfied and completely spent.

Another night, another success.

Hannibal gulped down the last of his drink, knew their winning streak would come crashing down around them sooner rather than later.

Face sat at the table with him. It was just the two of them tonight.

Hannibal spotted the man first.

Murdock.

Face's last conquest. He'd seen it too many times before to think he wanted more than just sex.

He watched Face, seeing if he reacted when he saw the pilot. His eyes scanned the crowd, and the brown jacket was almost like a beacon to him.

Hannibal could see Face's eyes linger on the man, looking him up and down, before continuing through the crowd.

He saw the gleam in Face's eye.

“Think I'm gonna go to the bar to get another drink. Want another?” Face offered.

Hannibal knew he wouldn't be back. “I'm good.”

Face stood and strode across the room.

Hannibal left the table he was sat at and ordered himself a drink.

Once he had the beverage in hand, his eyes somehow wandered to Murdock alone at his table.

He made his way over and sat with the pilot.

At Murdock's surprised look, he asked if he minded.

Murdock shook his head. “Can I ask you a question?”

Hannibal looked at the pilot. “Go ahead.”

What's up with Peck?”

Hannibal wasn't really sure what to say about it and decided to down play it. “What do you mean?”

“Oh, come on. His on your team. I've heard the rumours so you must have. What's his problem?”

“I don't think he's got one.” Hannibal said. “Look, if you've got a problem with him, maybe you should speak to him.”

“Maybe I will.” Murdock said.

He watched as the young lieutenant left with someone new, just like he'd left with Murdock the night before.

Murdock picked up his drink and finished it off in a few gulps.

“Maybe not tonight.”

The End.
