Chorus used from Unbreak My Heart was performed by Toni Braxton.

Templeton Peck stared out the window of the 747 at the landscape below him. He sighed as he thought about the people he'd be seeing in a few hours. It was hard to believe it had been nearly three years since they had parted. There had been phone calls, cards at Christmas and birthdays, but it wasn't the same. He glanced down when he felt strong fingers cover his hand.

"You all right? Been a long time since we've seen 'em."

He nodded, "Yeah, too long. I was just... remembering."

*******Hannibal glanced up from his newspaper to see Face and Murdock together by the pool. Lately, it seemed like they were always together. He sighed softly. The more Face and Murdock hung out together, the more he felt left out. He sensed the younger man gradually slipping away from him and he missed the times they had spent together. He wasn't jealous of Murdock; at least he didn't think he was.

"Yo, Johnny. You want to play a game of gin?"

Hannibal folded up the newspaper and motioned for the dark haired man to join him at the table. "I'm all yours, Frank." *******

Face glanced over at Murdock who was absorbed in some travel magazine. He couldn't help but smile as he watched the man he loved. The day he confessed his love burned fiercely in his memory.

******* Face stared at Hannibal, his emotions in a turmoil.

"I don't expect an answer right away, kid. I just need to know one way or another. Sooner or later, you're going to have to choose between the two of us."

Face watched in silence as Hannibal turned and walked out of the room. He'd been aware of Hannibal's feelings toward him but he'd never realized the depth of those feelings. Now he was faced with a choice. Hannibal or Murdock. Face knew no matter which one he chose, the other would end up hurt. He slumped against the window pane, wondering how he could ever decide. *******

Murdock stole a glance over at Face. He wished there was something he could do to ease his lover's troubled mind. He thought about the day Face first told him he loved him. He was still unsure how Face managed to break the news to Hannibal without breaking down. He glanced at his watch, only about an hour till they landed. He hoped it would be enough time for Face to work through his memories.

******* Hannibal listened quietly as Face told him of the choice he'd made. He wasn't all that shocked to discover Murdock had been the one to win the blond man's heart. But he'd still hoped he might be wrong. Swallowing the lump which was forming in his throat, he asked, "Why? Am I too old?"

Face griped Hannibal's hands in his and vehemently denied it. "NO! No, no, no. You're far from old. Age had nothing to do with it. I chose Murdock because... I know if something was ever to happen to me, or if we were to split up, he would be able to go on and meet someone else. He'd learn to love again. You're not like that, Hannibal. I know you could give me a once in a lifetime kind of love because you'd only give your heart to one person. You'd give your heart, mind, body, and soul as an offering of your love. You deserve someone who can give you the same. I'm not that person. I'd be too afraid of hurting you, dishonoring the love you gave. When I had to choose between hurting you a little now or the chance of hurting you greatly later, I chose what I felt was the lesser of two evils. I'd never be able to forgive myself if I was the cause of that much pain to you. I only hope you will be able to find it in your heart to forgive me." *******

When Face and Murdock entered the terminal, they scanned the faces of the people around them. It didn't take them long to spot Hannibal and Frankie waiting near the doorway to the stairs.

"Hiya, Frankster. Looks like Hollywood's been treating you both well these days," Murdock said as he slapped him on the back.

"Yo, Murdock. Hey, Faceman. You're both looking good. Staying out of trouble?"

Murdock laughed, "Who us? We never start trouble, you know that."

Hannibal couldn't help but grin. "Somehow you always wind up in the middle of it though, right?"

"Just like old times," Face held out his hand, "It's good to see you again, Hannibal."

Hannibal grasped his hand and smiled. "Some things never seem to change."

Frankie and Murdock went ahead of the other men to retrieve the luggage. Face gathered up his courage and spoke. "I've been doing a lot of thinking lately, Hannibal. I know things didn't turn out between us the way you wanted. I just want to apologize for the way I hurt you."

Hannibal stopped and help up his hand. "Face, just tell me one thing. Are you and Murdock happy together? Are you happy with him?"

"Yes, I am."

"Then don't say you're sorry. You made the right choice. You're with the one you were meant to be with." Glancing ahead at Frankie, he added, "I have someone who makes me happy, too."

"I'm glad, Hannibal. I really am."

Later that night, Hannibal stepped out onto the balcony of his apartment. The sounds of a local music station drifted up from a radio somewhere below. Frankie leaned against the doorway and asked, "You alright, Johnny?"

He turned toward his young lover and nodded. "He did the right thing choosing Murdock over me."

Frankie handed him a glass of Jack Daniels and ice. "That chick always listens to the most depressing music. You ever notice?"

Hannibal listened to the words of the song.

Unbreak my heart

Say you'll love me again

Undo this hurt you caused

When you walked out the door

And walked out of my life

Uncry these tears

I cried so many nights

Unbreak my heart

"I don't know. I kinda like this song. After all, that's what you did for me."

Frankie chuckled, "Good thing Faceman didn't choose you. I woulda had to beat him to a pulp to get you. I had a hard enough time getting you to notice me as it was. I was about ready to take drastic measures, I was so desperately in love."

Hannibal raised an eyebrow at him. "You mean to say kissing me in the pool then threatening to drown me if I didn't pay attention to you wasn't drastic measures?"

Frankie's face and neck grew crimson at the memory. "Ah, Johnny." He took a sip of his own whiskey before looking at the older man. "A man in love will do almost anything for the object of his affection."

Hannibal chuckled and swallowed the alcohol. "I'm glad you did, Frank, cause I hate to drink alone." He slid an arm around the other man's waist. "Drinking alone is almost as sad as sleeping alone."

"I'm not going anywhere, Johnny. I promise you. I'm here for good. Whether it's a champagne night or a Jack Daniels night, you'll never be alone. Now let's go to bed."

Hannibal's laugh filled the night air. "You always know just what to say to cheer me up, Frank. Remind me to thank Face in the morning. If he hadn't walked away from me, we would have never gotten together."

The two men smiled and turned back inside for the night. From behind their partly open bedroom door, Murdock and Face eavesdropped on the couple. When they heard the other bedroom door close, Murdock whispered, "Dontcha love it when a plan comes together?"

All Face could do was groan and shake his head as he pulled Murdock back toward their bed.
