Summary: oooh... tough... it's short, so I won't... an exercise in pacing and action and Hannibal's plans...

Hannibal knew that Gadella and his men would be coming soon. The people were all gathered in the church, and Gadella wanted to make a point to them. The colonel could hear the sounds of the service drift out the door. He'd told the people inside not to panic whatever happened and whatever they might hear.
Murdock sat with BA in the heat of the sun, waiting. They knew that they would be the main targets, and rely on Face and Hannibal to pull off the plan.
"Let us pray," the Reverend said.
Hannibal saw the congregation bow their heads out of the corner of his eye, just as he saw Gadella's car approach. He made a hand signal to Face, who relayed it to Murdock and BA.
BA and Murdock jumped up at Face's signal and waved to Gadella after he and the other car parked in front of the church.
"Who art in heaven,"
The crooked landholder waved his men out of their cars and towards these two irritating mercenaries. He would teach them to mess with his plans to demolish this church for a mall.
"Hallowed be thy Name."
Hannibal smiled as he saw that his plan was working. He bit down on his cigar as he and Face prepared their part of the plan.
"Thy kingdom come."
BA fired off a couple of shots towards the advancing men. He then retreated, letting Murdock cover him.
"Thy will be done,"
Gadella's men were gaining in confidence at the sight of only two mercenaries and their retreat. They advanced quickly. Gadella smiled, and then frowned. Where were the other two?
"On earth as it is in heaven."
Murdock noticed that Gadella wasn't taking the bait. Thinking quickly he shouted, "I always knew land-owners were cowards!" He grinned widely as their opponent took the bait.
"Give us this day our daily bread."
Hannibal mentally applauded his Captain and watched gratefully as Gadella and his men moved past the side of the church. He stood up, and moved quickly to Gadella's car, while Face went to the other car.
"And forgive us our trespasses,"
BA hated doing it, but he knew he had to. He threw down his weapon, and shouted that he surrendered. He and Murdock were rounded up by their opponents.
"As we forgive those"
Hannibal ran quickly back to his hiding place, Face coming with him now, as Murdock and BA came back into sight, escorted at gun-point. Everything was going according to plan.
"Who trespass against us."
Face watched the group approach. Timing was going to be critical. The risk to Murdock and BA was too high for the conman's liking, but he trusted Hannibal. He nodded to his leader, to indicate everything was set.
"And lead us not into temptation,"
Hannibal let out a piercing whistle, and then he and Face set off their traps. Murdock and BA, forewarned, dived to the ground, covering their eyes and ears as flash-bang grenades attached to the cars went off.
"But deliver us from evil."
Disoriented by the grenades, the goons and Gadella panicked when they heard sounds of firing coming from all around them. They were surrounded and couldn't see anyone!
"For thine is the kingdom,"
BA got up, and punched Gadella, knocking him flat while Murdock took on another guard. BA then cracked a couple of heads together, and he and HM picked up the weapons.
"And the power, and the glory,"
Hannibal and Face wandered over, and picked up the other two guns, and pointed them at Gadella.
"For ever and ever."
The men tried to stand and recover their sense, but sat back down at the sight of the guns.
Hannibal grinned and said "You should know houses of God are always protected."
Murdock let out a howl of delight and said, "Amen to that, Colonel!"
Gadella, dazed, looked around and noted his cars were still whole, not exploded. His men were unharmed, and there were only four men holding them. He muttered simply, "How?"
Face said, "Deception. It's the day of God, after all. You didn't think we'd hurt someone did you? Plus you're meant to rest on Sunday, so we didn't feel like working."
The Team all smiled at each other, and settled down to watch the crooks until the service ended.
